In the classic watch of today we always have the same elements: case, movement, crown, dial, hands, watch glass, strap.
There are, very roughly, only these seven elements. These seven components have formed the classic wristwatch as we know it for over 200 years. Here is now from Niveau élevé neatly mixed up. The cards are reshuffled, a new chapter in the construction of the classic watch begins. The dial, the division of time, is fused with the watch glass to form a “cypher glass”.
This either means that we only have six elements, the dial is dropped and you can look through to the movement. In this new variant, we would have: case, movement, crown, hands, cypher glass and bracelet. Or else, the dial is replaced by a “hand background”. Then we would have the following seven elements in the new watch: case, movement, crown, hand background, hands, cypher glass, bracelet.
In any case, the dial brings movement to the structure of the watch. A new element, the cypher glass, emerges in the world of the watch and tries to establish itself. The driving force of the novelty is a symbolism that stands for a certain way of looking at oneself and the world, but also a whole new look of the watch. The usually two-dimensional view of the clock is replaced by a three-dimensional one. While in the conventional watch all the optical elements merge into one plane, in the watches of Niveau élevé the time division rises into the third dimension and floats clearly visible above the rest.

A new phenomenon, or an invention, is usually based only on the chance meeting of various elements, which then suddenly result in a new product.

This was also the case with the invention of glass itself:
When the great pyramids were built on the plains of Egypt 4500 years ago, an entire fleet of moon barques transported limestone from the mountains of the south across the Nile to the building sites in the north. The nights in the deserts are cold and the boatmen, who camped on the sandbanks of the shores, protected their campfires from the desert wind by framing them with limestone blocks from their cargo. Then, in the morning, they made a strange discovery: in the cooling ashes, they found strange gems that had not been there in the evening. The resourceful Egyptians soon discovered the secret: lime, quartz sand, potash and fire are the four elements from which the new gemstone was created: glass was born.

The dial glass was also created by the meeting of different elements:

1. An in-depth knowledge of diamonds, the art of polishing diamonds, and the technical details of this most precious of gemstones. The technical and artisanal knowledge of the art of polishing diamonds is one of the roots of Niveau élevé.
2. An in-depth knowledge of glass. For over 20 years, the Niveau élevé team has been working with glass. The actual claim is not primarily to produce a completely innovative watch that trumps its competitors in its three-dimensionality of expression. This is perhaps a result of the concept. But the basic motivation for the watch is the philosophical element. The switching of the levels of temporal basic system and time flow symbolizes the intended progress at the own consciousness. Also, the whole project was created on a mystical background. The research on the construction technique for the matrimandir, a symbol of the progression of evolution, is ultimately the root of Niveau élevé.

In the watches of Niveau élevé are not only diamonds in the dial. Sapphires, rubies, emeralds, numerals of gold, platinum and other precious metals are also used. The diamond is the most symbolic material we know. He has quite a few superlatives. Among other things, it is the best conductor of heat. Diamond conducts heat better than copper. This means that a diamond cannot be harmed by heat shock. The symbolism that diamond conducts energy like no other material is part of the concept of Niveau élevé. Even if many models do not use diamonds in the dial, most of our watches use at least one diamond, whether it is in the crown, case, bracelet or dial background.

Niveau élevé is a technical, aesthetic and philosophical revolution of the classic wristwatch. We hope that we will all enjoy this innovation and that it will take us far into new areas of life. But the latter depends above all on ourselves.
